Cam Shaft

Cam shaft is a shaft with a row of pointed cams on it that transforms rotational motion into reciprocating motion. The intake and exhaust valves of piston engines, mechanically controlled ignition systems, and early electric motor speed controllers are all operated by this highly reliable product. A shaft to which a cam is attached or which a cam is an intrinsic part is referred to as a cam shaft. It is largely used in internal combustion engines with pistons for controlling poppet valves. It is made out of a cylindrical rod that runs the length of the cylinder bank and has one oblong lobe for each valve protruding from it.
